Cat and Dog Microchipping in Langhorne, PA
If you want a little extra peace of mind about your pet, we highly recommend having them microchipped. We recommend pet microchipping at our Langhorne clinic for dogs and cats alike, as they can both be at risk of getting lost. An open window, an ajar door…it only takes a moment for your pet to slip out and run off! Fortunately, having a microchip can significantly increase their odds of being returned safely to you.
Pets Furst Urgent Care takes walk-in appointments only! Stop in or call us ahead of time to have your pet microchipped.
Accidents happen, even when you do everything right as a pet owner. A microchip is a permanent identification for your pet that can never get lost or misplaced. It stays with your companion for life and can be scanned with a handheld device to access its unique serial number. This serial number needs to be registered into an online database under your name and contact information right away. If your pet goes missing and is picked up by a good Samaritan, a veterinarian or animal shelter staff member can scan your pet for a microchip and enter the chip number into a database so they can find you.
In short, a cat and dog microchip offers additional insurance if your pet gets lost or stolen. Unlike collar ID tags, which can fall off or be removed, a microchip stays and lasts for the duration of your pet’s life. We think that’s a sound investment!
Register your pet’s microchip here.
Your pet’s microchip does not contain any private information about you. All it contains is the serial number under which your information is registered. The manufacturer of your pet’s microchip, PetLink, is contacted by the veterinarian or shelter your pet is brought to and PetLink in turn contacts you, the owner, to notify you about your pet.
